Portable MC
If you thought entertainment was converging as far as the film and gaming industry, Traxxpad technology closes the gap a bit more with its innovative hip-hop studio software.

Sha Money XL, hip-hop mogul and G-Unit producer, has entered the world of gaming. He has teamed up with Eidos to develop Traxxpad, a portable studio software exclusively for the PSP! "The Traxxpad program allows users to utilize a wide range of beat-making applications, including drum machines, samplers, sequencers and keyboards in the creation of their own music." And with the PSP microphone, Traxxpad allows aspiring MCs to record vocals on the fly. And in true hip-hop fashion, you can easily import samples via mp3 from the memory stick port to help you master your beats and even record Ringtones.

This little nugget of awesome was brought to you by James Friedman, BSSP Director of Cultural Insights. For more cool stuff, check out his blog.

Real Time Advertising
The in-game advertising market has been growing, especially with the latest next-gen hardware technologies. But what can make the in-game advertising more appealing and gamers more receptive?

EA's latest sports titles like Madden '08, NASCAR '08, Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 and Skate will all feature a new in-game ad technology to allow advertisers to flow in fresh content at their will. Microsoft-owned Massive, Inc, who is a current leader in this niche market, will allow new content to be flowed into virtual billboards and other built-in constructs. By streaming real-time ads, Massive hopes to make games feel more authentic and more realistic than ever before.

Yankee group estimates that $26 million was spent in 2006 on in-game ads and projections, and we will only see spending grow at an exponential rate.

Urban Guerilla...Gaming?
Throw away the conventions of 5.1 surround sound, crisp 1080p graphics, and your leather lazyboy and get to the streets.

A group of European gaming rebels have taken gaming to another level—to the concrete jungle. This rogue group of XBOX 360 gaming enthusiasts mapped out specific areas to project their games and, by doing so, have unofficially become brand ambassadors by getting the 360 name out in the European market while also providing a media vehicle to show off the latest games. How soon will we see an effort like this funded by a publisher or hardware manufacturer?
